Whether You're Single or in a Relationship, Celebrate Valentine's Day with Phillip Ashley
The Truth About How Much I (And Other Foodies) Really EatFebruary 14, 2018

Last year I had a boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and we didn’t do anything.
Not a single thing.
This year I’m single and I plan on doing the exact same thing except I don’t have to buy an extravagant gift for my significant other. Instead, I’ll be at home editing photos, writing a blog post, and eating Philip Ashley chocolates. It may not be taking a gondola ride with a boyfriend whispering sweet nothings in my ear, but I’ll take what I can get!
I discovered Phillip Ashley chocolates last year while photographing the food served to celebrities and the vendors on showcase at the 69th Emmy Awards. It was a great time where I got the taste the food the attendees would be served, but it was an exciting day to discover products like Phillip Ashley. The creative, Memphis based, hand crafted chocolate company has been making signature flavors for the last four years and bringing smiles through chocolate to the everyday consumer and major companies like Nike and Verizon.
There’s no way around the fact that the chocolates aren’t cheap.
I found that out once I researched the brand after the Emmy’s. The designer chocolates come in select sizes including the Signature 6-piece ($24) and Signature 12-piece ($48). While they may not be the least expensive chocolate, they are the best tasting and the most unique. During the Emmy event they offered Amber Maple Pecan Praline, Margarita, and other exclusive flavors that raised the expectation I had for chocolate candy. Thanks to Phillip Ashley, I can’t look at Hershey’s the same way. Since then, the taste and memory of Phillip Ashley chocolates has stayed in my mind and I had no plans to silence it. Luckily, I didn’t have to as I received a box of the candy just in time for Valentine’s Day; and I think you already know I didn’t share them.
In the box was a set of heart shaped chocolates with cute messages. The set included a red topped heart of white chocolate with a Wild Strawberry Vanilla Bean, a pink painted heart of milk chocolate with Champagne Caramel, and a white heart of dark chocolate with Cherry Cordial. While the dark chocolate was filled with a striking liqueur and dainty cherry it wasn’t a favorite of mine simply for the fact that I’m not fond of dark chocolate. However, the brightly tasting champagne mixed into the caramel within the chocolate hearts was one I loved. But it was the deliciously smooth wild strawberry inserted into the while chocolate that was a clear winner for me. It was also the flavor that disappeared first which only affirms it was the one I enjoyed most.
I was so happy to get a box of Phillip Ashley chocolates for the holiday because they were just as good this time as they were when I was first introduced to the brand last year. While I may not have a significant other this Valentine’s Day, the chocolates are a great gift for any person. A cute box with messages of “Eat Me”, “Marry Me” or “I Love You” would brighten up anyone you love whether it’s an exciting romantic relationship, a budding platonic friendship, or anything in between.
