Each city has its peak travel season, unless you’re Pine Bluff, Arkansas which is probably never. However, if you’re a
popular city that gets frequent travelers then there’s a good chance it has a restaurant that others must visit. Los Angeles is no exception to tourists and that can be seen in the increase of freeway traffic, lines at Disneyland, and gullible sightseers buying mixtapes on Hollywood Boulevard. While I may not be excited by any of that, I do get eager to tell people where to eat. Of course, I don’t want longer waits at my favorite eatery, but sending more money their way so they can be in business longer is something I love to do. One place I always recommend to tourists and one place that I take family and friends when they’re in town is a favorite place of mine which is none other than Weho Bistro.
I’ve written about the West Hollywood restaurant multiple times and it never gets old. I’ve dined in the restaurant on many occasions and I constantly find something new. While I could retell a narrative on each plate I had on a previous visit, I won’t. Instead, I’ll tell you how it was the exact restaurant I took my uncle when he was visiting from London. He wanted to do the typical “LA things” and when it came to where we would eat, I refused to take him to anything that could be found on some basic and redundant top LA list. I took him to WeHo Bistro because I love the restaurant, I adore the story, and the food holds a special place in my heart. I wanted him to have those same sentiments even if it would only be this single time.
Thankfully, one time was enough to do that.
A few amazing entrees and a delicious dessert or two have a way of making a single visit a memorable one. I don’t know what they put in their food, but it’s incredible. One may be cliché and say they use “love”, and while there may be slight truth to that I know it has to be something bigger. What that is I still don’t know exactly, but it’s enough of something to make me want to take everyone I know to their restaurant. It’s an ingredient that can blend in between their bread, salad, salmon, peach cobbler, decadent chocolate while dancing across each and every one of my tastebuds to make me want more.
The ingredients, the food, and the atmosphere are just what you need even if you didn’t know it. It’s all so effortless, memorable, and something that I encourage you to try if you haven’t been to the restaurant recently or ever. Whether you’re a local who needs a great lunch or a tourist trying to find the best place to eat the answer is and always will be: Weho Bistro.
