I firmly believe that cheeseburgers are one of the best inventions.
Aside from the hot comb, telephone, internet, and refrigerator (to obviously keep food fresh), the cheeseburger (and plain burger too) has to be one of the best things to grace the earth. Knowing that, burgers hold a fond place in my heart and stomach. When I got the chance to check out a cheeseburger and set of fries at Burger City Grill in Torrance it was a no brainer. I hopped in my car, drove down to the South Bay, and ordered what I would soon consider the best burger and fries the restaurant has to offer!
After a few minutes of staring at the menu I placed my order and waited patiently at a booth for my food. Well, somewhat patiently. It didn’t take long for the fries and burger to arrive and my hands immediately went after the C.P.R. Fries ($5.95) first. The hand cut fries were covered with Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, cherry pepper relish (CPR), and a BCG spread. I loved how soft and slightly crispy the fries were but what made them even better was the spicy, smokey, and sweet relish that smothered the fries. Grabbing bits of the crispy bacon and pulling it all together with the cheddar cheese gave me such a great style of fries that it was easy to devour them all.
To go with my fries was my burger. The burger that made my crazy fries feel complete was The Yorker ($6.95). The Certified Angus Beef patty was toppled with a heaping of deli style pastrami, Swiss cheese, red onions, and smeared with the BCG spread. From the first bite to the last, this burger was absolutely delicious especially coming from a fast-casual concept. The brioche bun was soft yet maintained its composure perfectly as it held in all the meat and cheese. The patty was juicy, but it was the pastrami that made it taste delightful. The deli meat was so tender and flavorful and paired with the cheese and fresh onions in the best way possible. I was surprised at how quickly I finished it because it made me question whether I should order a second one. I didn’t, but I definitely thought long and hard about it.
After thoroughly enjoying the C.P.R. Fries and The Yorker from Burger City Grill I can easily say that the food was delicious! The fries were full of great flavor from their unique sauce and the burger was topped with such succulent meat that it would have been impossible for me to leave any of it behind. Thanks to the great burger from Burger City Grill, I will continue to hold on to my belief that burgers are one of the best inventions!

Yum! I’d drive for that!!
Hehe, me too! Well…I did =]
I’ve never been a burger girl. I don’t know why but meat slapped between bread has never really tickled my fancy. BUT this monster could turn my frown upside down. Hello beautiful, I don’t even eat meat and I think I love you… talking to the burger of course. One thing I do eat is french fries! I can’t get enough and I love when there are topped with crazy ingredients. The Yorker fries are worth a 5 mile run.
Haha the burger totally has the ability to turn a frown right side up and maybe that’s the fun part of burgers and all they really gotta do right? But fries on the other hand, those little guys are so good!
first things first: i see “south bay” and think of the south bay area and not this one, lol. and whoa, that burger looks intense! i’d be happy sans beef but more is better, right?!
More is always better, Heather and I think you would make an exception for this burger and not regret it one bit!
You got me on hand cut fries hon! This looks so delicious! Lately I have been craving burgers like crazy, even though I was never so much into them! My mouth is full of saliva just by watching to this haha! I think I am going to head off to a good burger house near my home! 😀
Hope you’re having a great start to the weekend, and happy holidays if you are celebrating Easter!

Stella! I know burgers aren’t for everyone so I completely understand if you haven’t always been into them. But this one is totally a great gateway option for the person who kinda doesn’t care for them, but wants one anyone! Hope you had a great Easter too!!! <3
I live in the UK and I’d drive over for that burger, haha! It looks delicious!
Right?!? I would do the same!
OMG, those fries, now I’m having a serious FOMO moment. I love fries, I think I’ve told you before. But that is ONE stunning work of art, what you just showed me there!! Urgh..I love the line: “The burger that made my crazy fries feel complete..” and that “burgers are one of the best inventions”. Hehe! I’m so hungry now, and I need to find me some burgers which I haven’t eaten in the longest while! Thank you for teasing my gut, love. 😀 xo
Haha a FOMO moment over fries is totally understandable, Shanaz! I hope you found yourself a delicious burger after reading this post and that it compelled you to get another, and another, and another! <3
