I could not stop laughing during this podcast interview.
Honestly, I could not stop laughing and if I did, it was probably to breathe. Last week I spent the day in Orange County on a food tour with Niyaz Pirani, founder of Knife and Spork PR. In between eating and photographing food at Meat Up BBQ, Lido Bottle Works, Crafthouse, and The Bowery I recorded a podcast with Niyaz and his podcast partner, Jeff Fliegler of The POINT Solutions. Together, Niyaz and Jeff host the I Know But… podcast. The show that recently kicked off its second season sits down with people in various industries to have in depth conversations about their favorite things. Whether it’s an episode with Thomas Curan discussing his game plan to travel across America by foot or Kathryn Emery sharing everything she loves about technology, Niyaz and Jeff have a great way of getting their guests to open up, share their knowledge, and crack a few jokes the entire time.
Sitting down to record an episode with Niyaz and Jeff was so much fun. I really enjoyed the ways I got to talk about food and various avenues of the business all while hearing their perspectives. We got to compare the Orange County dining landscape to that of Los Angeles, popular chefs, and the pricing of dishes based on demographics. We dove into issues of race, being politically correct, and how to interact with others when it comes to ethnicity. Within all of that and each umbrella topic we easily got onto relevant tangents that sparked questions we explored together. Our conversation was focused, loud, insightful, chaotic, intelligent, thoughtful, and a bit rambunctious. Ultimately, it was like any conversation you have with your friends. Well, this one was recorded of course.
At the end of it all, I was so happy to sit down with the Niyaz and Jeff because it was exciting to be around two hardworking entrepreneurs who have the same passion towards pursuing a dream that I have. I was thankful to hear the thought process, hopes, and even their frustrations all while receiving their support on things I’m insecure about. It was an hour and a half of seriously good energy on exciting subjects and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and most of all, the constant laughs.
