How do you ring in a milestone, a birthday, or an anniversary? With a celebration and nothing less. A party of some degree of grandeur may be the option of choice and if you know anything about celebrations, you can’t do it alone. At least that’s what the Los Angeles Times did to announce the return of their popular monthlong event, Food Bowl.
Returning for its fourth consecutive year, Food Bowl will take over the city of Los Angeles bridging local and international food experiences and chefs with over 100 events. From May 1st to May 31st, the culinary festival will host collaborations, panel discussions, and pop ups in restaurants and venues throughout the county. To get you excited for what’s to come, you can peruse recaps of media previews, interviews, and past night markets that took place during Food Bowl here.
Focusing on the events to occur this year, the Los Angeles Times and their staff held a preview of what’s to come at the Firehouse Hotel in Downtown LA. Attendees had the chance to sample bites from restaurants like Bon Temps and Zoe’s Food Party. In between tastes of pretty pastries and packed pitas (created by both restaurants respectively), we heard about the upcoming main events. With its public kick off on Thursday, April 30, Food Bowl guests will spend the evening partying in anticipation of the event’s commencement. Seeing that it is in less than two months, you have enough time to clear your calendar and find your favorite eating pants. Following the kick off, Night Market will take over Grand Park for 5-days (TBD). Open to the public and free admission, guests can attend any or all dates and purchase the diverse creations from the many chefs and restaurants that will be in attendance. Not to forget, in between the highlighted dates will be additional events occurring all throughout the city.
